Requirements

A person who purchased items worth more than 15,000 won

A person who is leaving Korea within 3 months from the purchase date

A person who meets one of the following conditions

Foreigner
A foreigner who stayed less than six months in Korea

Korean nationals residing abroad
A Korean national who has been residing abroad for over two years and stayed in Korea for less than three months

A person who is not subject to internal tax payment

Methods and Procedure

Immediate Refund

If you meet the above requirements, you can receive a tax refund immediately when you purchase items under 1,000,000 won. (Maximum: 5 million won per visit)

Refund Procedure

We confirm your passport information with a passport reader upon payment.

The amount corresponding to the tax refund is deducted from the total payment.

Post Tax Refund (Internal Tax Refund)

You can also receive a tax refund at the tax refund desk or kiosk after the purchase.
In this case, the purchased items must be declared upon departure from the airport or port.

Refund Procedure

Issue a tax refund receipt after checking your passport and receipt at the tax refund desk.※ Some brand stores handle tax refund services at the customer center, while others provide the service at their stores. Refund location of each store

Select the most suitable tax refund method from below.

Cash : In order to receive a cash refund, a credit card deposit is required. The deposit will be released when the purchased items are declared to customs.
Credit Card :Tax refunds are issued within 2 to 3 weeks after the purchased items are declared to customs.
Alipay : You can receive a refund in real-time as soon as the carried-out is confirmed through customs.
WeChat Pay : Tax refunds are issued within 1 to 2 days after the purchased items are declared to customs.
